It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James W. Chavers of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lettie Chavers, (Cook) and Andrew Chavers, Jr.; and his siblings, Gertrude George of Los Angeles and Arthur Chavers (Lulu) of St. Louis. He is survived by: his children, Deborah R. Chavers-Stout of Riverside, OH, Dr. James W. Chavers (Jeff Levison) of Pasadena, CA, Christopher P. Chavers (Gladys) of St. Augustine, FL, Ralph Tune (Atiya) of Buford, GA and Cara Tune of Philadelphia; and his siblings, Nettie Melton of Tuscaloosa, AL, Leona B. Collins (Charles) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Andrew Chavers (Helen) of Memphis, TN, Samuel Tabb of Houston, TX, Linda Faye Banks (William) of Atlanta, GA and Bobbi Jean Lomax of Tuscaloosa, AL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in James' name if desired to Disabled American Veterans.
