He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Way (Deforest) and Ruth Way (Matteson); and his brothers, David, John and Morris "Bud" Way.
He is survived by: his daughters, Stephanie Burton (Phillip) and Kelly Way (Jacque Hill); his sisters, Lila Jean Betts, Sandra Angle (Tom) and Gretchen Tate; and his grandchildren, Benjamin Smith, Nathanial Smith, Lennon Hill and Jesse Hill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
