James J. Smith Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James J. Smith of Covington, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As James departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved James. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul William and Ann Smith (Strazyk); and his brother Paul J. Smith. He is survived by: his sisters, Ann Marie DeCarli (Ray) of Mineral, VA and Mary Clare Prisco (Tom) of Dumfries, VA; his sister-in-law Christa Smith; and his close friend Mary Ann Fox. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services (3 First Street, Spring Brook Township, PA 18444). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services (3 First Street, Spring Brook Township, PA 18444). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Catherine of Siena Church (220 Church St, Moscow, PA 18444).
