He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ekey and Virginia Roy Ekey; his wife Jacqueline Flask Ekey; his son David Ekey Jr.; his brother Charles; and his pet Charli.
He is survived by: his children, Brandon Ekey (Whitney) of Ellwood City and Jessica Ekey (David Zychowski) of Economy; his granddaughters, Jacqueline Zychowski and Penelope Ekey; and his siblings, Sue Goehring, Barbara Green, Robert and William Ekey.
He then worked many years for the Miami Foundation Charity.
