He was predeceased by : his parents, James G. Gavin and Regina M. Gavin (Mattick); and his sisters, Maureen "Molly" Williams (Zanetta) of Richmond, KY and Kathleen Gavin. He is survived by : his wife Deborah Ann Gavin; his children, James G. Gavin of Mechanicsburg, PA, Jamie Albers (Dan) and Chia Coleman (John); and his siblings, Eileen Mullay (Carl), David, Patrick (Tina), John (Donna) and Mark (Joeann). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the local food pantries, or Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612.
