He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold C. Ackerman and Verna Litzenberger Ackerman. He is survived by : his wife Jane Ruth Ackerman (Archer); and his brothers, Craig D. Ackerman (Chris Ackerman) and Grant D. Ackerman.

Memorial contributions can be made in Harold's name to the Northern Columbia Community and Cultural Center in Benton; the Orangeville Public Library in Orangeville, Bethany Church of Berwick, Berwick or The Children's Museum in Bloomsburg.
