He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Edgar A. Howell and Evelyn Howell (Fountain); his brothers, Kenneth Edgar Howell and Hugh Benton Howell; and his daughter Valerie Faith Howell.

He is survived by: his wife Faith Howell; and his son Gregory Howell.
