He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Newman and Kay Newman (McWilliams); and his brothers, Bobby Newman and Ronnie Newman. He is survived by: his close friend Sherry L. Lando; his son Donald "DJ" J. Rhodes; his granddaughters, Bryn and Avery Rhodes; and his brother Danny Newman.
