We are sad to announce that on September 4, 2025, at the age of 95, Charles Sloan of Derry, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Charles may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Sloan and Mary Olive Sloan (Short); his wife Rachael H. Sloan (Williams); and his siblings, Francis A., Harry E. Sloan, Mary R. and Ida A. Sloan.
He is survived by: his sister June M. Sloan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Matthew X Merlin Funeral Home, Inc. (529 N Chestnut St, Derry, PA 15627). The military honors was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 at 4:45 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
