He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Solak Kahanec; his wife Otilia Mortko; his son Jan; and his siblings, Stanley Kahanec, Helen Connery, Pauline Cerritani, Mildred Topalanchik, Margaret Kossage, Mary De Venuta, Ann Loyko and Sally Syrylo.
He is survived by: his son Mark; his daughter-in-law Joy of Greensburg, PA; and his grandchildren, Kristin of Newark and Nicholas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
