He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Burkhardt and Elizabeth A. Athey (Mastin); and his stepfather Harold Athey. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor G. Burkhardt (Carmany); and his daughters, Cindy A. Marburger (Fred) of Mechanicsburg, Diane M. Heikes (Dave) of Dillsburg, Wendy S. Toomey (Brant) of Dillsburg and Jill R. Johnson Roy. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
