He was predeceased by: his parents, David C. Purkey and Dora F. Purkey (Waid). He is survived by: his wife Joan E. Purkey (Whiteley); his daughters, Loretta A. Purkey of Horseshoe Bend, AR, Deborah J. Lester (Dan) of Gettysburg and Christina L. Evans (David) of Dillsburg; his grandchildren, Jaxon R. Evans and Emilee R. Evans; and his brother Donald Purkey. He is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory (549 Carlisle St, Hanover, PA 17331). A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
