With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Harold Knechtel of Dormont, Pennsylvania, born in Baldwin Township, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 24, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Janet M. Knechtel (Strachan); his parents, William Charles Knechtel and Wilma Ann Bode; his siblings, Beverly Knechtel Jackson (Charles Jackson) and William C. Knechtel (Dorothy Laurenze Knechtel); and his daughter Janet Ann Knechtel Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Keith A. Knechtel (Diane Carpenter Knechtel) and Karen L. Knechtel Gery (William T. Gery); his grandson Col. William R. Gery (Christine Darby Gery); his great grandchild Caellum Gery; his grandson Benjamin L. Gery (Kate Gery); his great grandchild Amelia Jane Gery; his son-in-law George Jones; and his grandchildren-in-law, Amanda Jones Bartron (Derek Bartron) and Ashley Jones Foti (Kyle Foti). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital or Amedisys Foundation.
