Joan leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joan’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Joan will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband James E. Gallagher; and her children, Sheila, Joyce (Cyndi), Yvonne Marks (Joseph), Diane, Colleen Mertens (Pail) and Paul Gallagher.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes (222 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15216). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, August 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Bernard Church (St. Michael the Archangel Parish) (311 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15216).
