He was predeceased by : his father Robert L. Gay, Sr.. He is survived by : his close friend Melisa L. Wolf of Manchester, PA.; his mother Lorraine L. Gay (Rizzi) of Dover, PA; his children, Morgan L. Gay of Manchester, PA and Joey M. Gay of Manchester, PA; his grandchildren, Adelyn E. and Desmond R. Gay of Manchester, PA; his stepdaughter Tana Bortner of York, PA; and his brothers, Robert L. "Tike" Gay, Jr. (Deb) of Shermans Dale, PA, Barry K. Gay (Kathy) of York, PA, Larry K. Gay (Jane) of York, PA and Rodger D. Gay (Ann) of New Cumberland, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
