He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Vincent Mercaldo and Mary Mercaldo; his wife Virginia "Ginger" Mercaldo; his children, Scott Mercaldo and Tracy Davenport; his grandchildren, Rocco, Emmet and George Mercaldo; his siblings, Vincent Mercaldo, Joan Nuss and Bernadette Holmes; his grandchild Neptune; his friends, Lloyd and Ray; and his grandchild Navy.

Fred managed to sell both Millennium Screw Machine and his Michigan condominium just as the world shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic.
