She was predeceased by : her husband James S. Rodgers; her parents, Charles and Marie; and her sister Dorothy Foster. She is survived by : her great grandchildren, Domenico DeVito and Mia DeVito; her children, James S. Rodgers (Marilyn), Anne DeMaio (Bob), Carolyn Gallo (Tom), Thomas M. Rodgers (Chris), John P. Rodgers (Melissa), Michael C. Rodgers (Erin) and Cindy Hickey (Tim); and her sister Joan McGuckin. She is also survived by grandchildren, 16 and counting great grandchildren and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Theresa DeAngelo wrote a sympathy message

“I am sorry to hear of Marie’s passing. Marie starting coming to our (hair) salon about five years ago after her other stylist retired. While I was not her regular stylist, and only did her hair once in a while, Marie was one of my General Hospital buddies. There aren’t that many people around that you can still talk to about General Hospital, but Marie and I can do that. She was always a pleasure to having the Salon and she will be missed. Myself and my staff offer. Our deepest condolences”
