He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen A. Lavin; his daughter Shannon Lavin; and his parents, Veronica Healey and John Lavin. He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Lavin (Sandy) and Shawn Lavin (Aimee); and his grandchildren, Allissa, Kacey, Olivia and Jacob. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
