He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Beer and Katharine Beer (Reiner); his wife Nellie Cowan; his siblings, Louise Malick, Janet McCluskey and Kermit J. Beer; and his nephew Clifford Miller.
He is survived by: his nephews, William Beer, Kevin Beer, Philip Miller and David Miller.
