He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Franz and Mary Franz (Duritsa); his wife Mary Ann Franz (Klippi); and his brothers, Joseph Franz and Henry Franz.
He is survived by: his daughter Monica Murphy (Samuel) of Smock; his granddaughter Jennifer Kern (Bruce) of Vanderbilt; and his great grandchildren, Gabriella Kern of Florida, Juliana Kern of Florida and Logan Kern of Minnesota.
