He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Whitacre and Bessie Whitacre (Thompson); and his sister Donna Fuller. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Whitacre (VanSickle); his children, Russell, Rodney Whitacre and Charity Stamates (Stuart); his grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Amber, Russell, Jr., Ashley and Alex; and his siblings, Lucy Hall and Mark Whitacre. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
