William R. Hoffman Obituary
William "Ronnie" R. Hoffman, 85, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in Duncannon, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 24, 1940, in Landisburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Allen and Bessie (McQuay) Hoffman, Sr.
A 1958 graduate of Susquenita High School, Ronnie soon married the love of his life, Marian, on January 26, 1963. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and simple joys that became treasured memories for those around them.
Raised on his parents' farm, Ronnie carried the values of hard work, resilience, and dedication throughout his life. He retired from the sales department of H.R. Wentzel Sons, Inc., where he was known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature. Retirement suited Ronnie well, as he found his greatest happiness at home with the people he loved most. In his retirement, he also enjoyed many different bus trips and cruises to both domestic and foreign places.
Ronnie enjoyed life's simple pleasures — a home-cooked meal, a bowl of chili, and always hoping Marian had pie or ice cream waiting in the kitchen. Family gatherings were made even more special by the homemade, hand-cranked ice cream that became one of Ronnie's lasting traditions and favorite pastimes.
Though stubbornly independent at times, Ronnie's quiet strength was matched only by the deep love he had for his family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a man whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and unwavering support to those closest to him.
Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marian Hoffman; his daughter, Teresa Kuhn and her husband, Fred; grandchildren, Heather Kuhn, Rebecca Yohe and her husband, Warren, Ronald Kuhn and his wife, Kellie, Kaitlyn Kuhn; and three great-grandchildren, Daniel Kuhn, Mollie Kuhn, and Emilie Kuhn; as well as his sister, Carrie Hoffman and her husband, Chuck; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Hoffman.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Hoffman; his sisters, Blanche Bolze, Florence Leiby, Shirley Bitner, and Geraldine Owen; and his brothers, John Hoffman and Roy Hoffman.
Services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment and committal services will immediately follow at Bloomfield Cemetery.
