He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Maira and Josephine Campisi Maira; and his siblings, Gaetana Gabello, Grace Jones, Mary Giumento and Joseph Maira.

He is survived by: his nephews, Michael Maira Boise Id, John Jones Scranton and Joseph Giumento; his niece JoAnn Kulcyk (John Waunakee Wi); Carol Dunmore. He is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
