She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Bechtold and Catherine Bechtold (Rugletic); her former husband John "Butchie" Shimley; her husband Melvin Decker; her siblings, Betty Jean Sinoracki and Charles "Butch" Bechtold; her nephew David Sinoracki; her niece Marilyn Tokar; and her brother-in-law Joe Russick Sr..
She is survived by: her children, John Shimley of Duryea and Christina Boyanowski; her son-in-law Brian; her grandchildren, Miranda Kopko (Joe), Christy Shimley, Ashlyn O'Donovan, Mason O'Donovan and Ryan Boyanowski (Hailey); her great grandchildren, Arabella, Audrey, Jed and Bryson; her brother Carl Bechtold of Duryea; her nephews, Mark Sinoracki (Barbara), Jack Bechtold, Joe Russick (Michelle) and Paul Russick (Tammy); and her niece Melissa Bechtold (Scott).
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc. (255 McAlpine St, Duryea, PA 18642). A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
