She was predeceased by: her parents, John Yurkanin and Mary Skasko Yurkanin; her husband Martin Dunay; and her brother John Yurkanin Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Dr. Darlene Ann Dunay (Anthony Wastella), Renee Poveromo (Attorney Carl Poveromo) and Martin Dunay (Cathy Dunay); her grandchildren, Anthony Wastella, Rachele Poveromo, Dr. Catherine Wastella, Julianne Dunay, Rhianna Dunay and Ricky Beccaloni; and her sisters, Marie Kobal of Pittston and Anna Mae Dunay of Shelton, CT. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc. (204 Main St, Duryea, PA 18642). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Saints Parish at St. John the Evangelist Church (35 William St, Pittston, PA 18640).
