We bid farewell to Madeline Gillis of Duryea, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 2, 2025 at the age of 98. Madeline touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Madeline had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Madeline may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Aloysius Gillis and Madeline Gillis; her sister Gloria Lynn; and her brother-in-law James Lynn of Duryea. She is survived by: her nephew Gillis Lynn (Lynn Jensen) of Chittenden; and her great-nephews, Alex Lynn of Boston and Peter Lynn of Rutland. She is also survived by her many friends and caretakers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church (127 Stephenson St, Duryea, PA 18642). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
