He is survived by : his parents, Norman Koester and Debra Koester (Michael); his son Julian Koester; his friend Amanda Schreiber; his wife Marilyn; his sisters, Anna Koester (Peter) and Emily Koester; his grandmother Patricia Kellermann (William); his aunts and uncles, Dona Rogner (Oscar), Yvonne Muchard (Michael), Wanda Glazier (Michael), Roy Leonard (Randi) and Kevin Koester (Jarvie); his cousins, Tim, Chris, Adam, Mason, Graydon, Dylan, Jack, Adrianna, Calvin, Paul, Dana, Christine, Scott, Julie and Bonnie Jo; his stepsiblings, Joy Henry (Ridley) and Paul Ridley; and also Stephanie Pekas.
