He was predeceased by : his mother Ella M. Crawford; his close friend Pamela Bellas; and also Steven Bellas. He is survived by : his children, Stormie Dietz of Adrian and George Deitz Jr. of Emporium; his caregiver Jeff Earley (Tina); his nephews, John Deitz and Jim Mortimer; and his siblings, Kathryn Foringer, Clarence and John Deitz.
