He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Elwood Hetzel, Sr. and Ruby A. Hetzel (Walbert). He is survived by: his wife Danna Hetzel (Cocco); his daughter Richelle Clark (Dwayne Clark, Jr.); his siblings, Darlene Scheetz, Nancy Margeson and Wayne Hetzel, Sr.; and his grandchildren, Georgia and Austin.

Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to Brown and Lynch Post 9 of The American Legion, 2260 Corriere Road Easton, PA 18045.
