She was predeceased by: her parents, Florence Nairn and John "Jack" Nairn; and her brother John P. Nairn Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, James Archangelo (Christina) and Scott Archangelo (Lovey); her stepchildren, Peggy Walsh (Sean) and John Molnar (Laura); her grandchildren, Ashley Gray (Logan), Alicia Archangelo (Alex), Nolan, Abigail Walsh, Samantha and Tanner Archangelo; her great grandchildren, Maddox, Londyn and Brooklyn Gray; and her siblings, Larry Nairn (Sandy) and Mary Susan Nairn (Larry Schutzius).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Melanie's honor to the YWCA of Johnstown.
