He was predeceased by : his parents, John Wirfel and Genevieve Wirfel (Illig); his brothers, Cam, Herb, Leo, Joseph and Don "Duck" Wirfel; and his brother-in-law Clyde Gallardy.

He is survived by : his wife Jean Wirfel (Brown); his children, Lori (Joseph), Jeffrey Wirfel (Stephanie) and Kristy Popma (Joey); his grandchildren, Joe, Dominic, Lexi, Maria, Xavie, Hailey, Ollie, Cam, Ethan, Annemarie, Julien and Tricie; and his sisters-in-law, Patricia Wirfel, Betty Wirfel-McMahon, Joann Wirfel and Jean Wirfel. He is also survived by his family and friends.
