He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Eugene and Shirley Sayers (McCafferty); and his brother Michael. He is survived by: his wife Linda Sayers (Zilhaver); his sons, Jeffry (Erin) and Dan (Ben Stabb); his stepchildren, Shane Machacek (Wendy) and Carmen McElfresh (Ehren); his grandchildren, Jeffry, Isaac, Sophia, Rylin and Nate; and his brothers, Tim, Gene, Greg, Brian and David.
