With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Robert William Gloyd of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Robert left this world on December 3, 2025 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Robert may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Robert touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Ernest and Mattie Elizabeth Barker Gloyd; and his wife Sharon Louise Rice Gloyd. He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Hovermale (Rusty); his grandchildren, Cyanna Lilley and Colten Hovermale (Sydney); his great grandchild Miles Hovermale; and his brother Jerry E. Gloyd.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center (95 Union St, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Zion Community Church, 4581 Orleans Road, Great Cacapon, WV 25422.
