He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace J. Mapes Sr. and Ruby Martin Mapes; and his siblings, John, James Mapes and Joan Wilsey.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his sons, Joe Mapes (Patricia) of Vance, AL, Randy Calkins (Chris) of Honeyoye Falls, NY and Adam Mapes (Angela) of Hamlin, NY; his stepdaughter Julie Mapes of Smethport; and his grandchildren, Randi, Kristopher, Ashlyn, Hunter, Brayden, Ryan, Jarrett, Camryn, Robbie, Devin, Austin and Damien. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
