He was predeceased by : his parents, Earl Edward and Mary Jane King (Hankins); and his wife Marcy Lynn King (Burd). He is survived by : his daughter Cora Jean Panian (Chris) of Butler; his grandchildren, Lucy and Joey Panian of Butler; his daughter Sara Burd King; his brothers, Terry Earl King and Mark David King; and his in-laws, Jack and Shirley Burd. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory (6028 Smithfield St, McKeesport, PA 15135). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in John's name to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (themmrf.org).
