He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonza Whitacre and Effie Whitacre; his children, Susan Beth Lovecchio of Sparta, NJ and Eric James Whitacre of Elizabethtown, PA; and his siblings, Marion, Rita, Frieda, Elnora, Etheline and Earl.
He is survived by: his wife Mary P. Whitacre; and his daughters, Pamela Hollinger of Philippi, WV and Lori Weaver (Dean) of Akron, PA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
