He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Burns and Thelma R. Burns (Snavely); his former wife Mary S. Burns; his son Jay R. Burns Jr.; and his siblings, Robert Burns and Barbara Gestiewicz.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Burns (Vander Closter); his daughter Crystal Radzai (Jerry) of Mt. Carmel; his grandson Michael Gould (Jennie) of Middletown; and his great grandchildren, Carter Gould and Cora Gould.
The family has requested that memorial contributions in Jay's name be sent to Open Door Bible Church (Missions), 200 Nissley Drive, Middletown PA 17057 or to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17110.
