We announce the death of John A. Hitz of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 70. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. John’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer E. Hitz and Emma Landis Hitz; and his sister Katharine J. Hitz. He is survived by: his child Lauren A. (Jack Ziegert); his former wife Doreen Hitz (Miller) of Elizabethtown; and his siblings, Elvin E. (Donna Hitz) of Elizabethtown, Galen D. Hitz (late Linda) of Elizabethtown, Jacob L. (Nancy Hitz) of Elizabethtown and Ann M. Hitz of Elizabethtown.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bright Hope Fellowship (345 N Deodate Rd, Middletown, PA 17057). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
