He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Ann Hafer (Gehret); his parents, Freeman Z. Hafer and Helen P. Hafer (Levan); his son Kurt Hafer; and his siblings, Neil Hafer, Janet Brandel and Donald Hafer.
He is survived by: his son Neil; his daughter-in-law Terrie Hafer; his grandchildren, Lauren Lewis (Mark), Jordan Hafer (Emily), Zachary Hafer (Jenna) and Sarah Hafer (Zach); his great grandchildren, Penelope, Laken, Liam and Arlo; and his sister Fay Gerhart.
