He is survived by: his wife Mary Barton (Shaw); his children, Robin Chemsak and Bill Barton (Gretchen); his stepchildren, Christopher Henning, Jeffrey Henning, Terry Coveny, Samantha Henning and Jill Gibbs; and his siblings, Don Barton, Tom Barton and Dorie Robuck. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
