He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin H. Shell and Luvenia Poore Shell; his former wife Alice Shell; and his siblings, Helen, Joyce DeBord, Jeannine Barr, Frances Barnett and Will Shell.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy Shell of Ephrata; his son Joe Shell; his close friends, Kristin Kauffman of Mount Joy, Jim Shell, Mags Hartery of Wrightsville and Tom (Jenny Shell) of Tazewell, TN; his grandson Mark Alvin Shell of Millersville; and his brother Ed (Leslie Shell) of Lancaster. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
