He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Benner and Esther Benner (Landis); his wife Mary Benner (McNally); his daughter Catherine A. Benner; and his siblings, Mildred Brackbill, Paul, Harold, LeRoy, Melvin and Raymond Benner.
He is survived by: his children, Eugene L. (Evelyn), Linda M. (Colin Gockley) of Stevens and Christine (James Burd) of Stevens. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
