He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Scarpino and Josephine Scarpino (Lombardo); his wife Patricia Scarpino (Carroll); his brothers, Frank Scarpino (Jean) and Richard Scarpino (Ann); and his brothers-in-law, David Carroll (Beverly) and Donald Smith.
He is survived by: his sister Mary Catherine Smith; his children, Karen Paradise (Albert) of Erie, Diane Hefner (Joseph) of Erie, Benedict Scarpino, Jr. of Erie, Suzanne Scarpino of Willowick, Ohio and Kathleen Applebee (Robert) of Melbourne, Florida.; his grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Alex, Dominick Scarpino, Bobby, Lily, Sammy Applebee and Xavier Henderson; and his great grandchildren, Dominic Hefner and Allen Scarpino. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kloecker Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (2502 Sassafras St, Erie, PA 16502). A prayer will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (2401 W 38th St, Erie, PA 16506). An entombment will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at the Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery (6000 Lake Pleasant Rd, Erie, PA 16509).
