Charles leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Charles’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Charles will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert L. Mangel and Wealthea Mangel (Howell); and his brothers, James L. Mangel, Donald Mangel, Robert Mangel and Richard Mangel.
He is survived by: his children, John Mangel (Kelly) of Sedalia, MO, Laura Peterson (Bryan Moon) of Meadville, PA, Carol Mangel of Warren, PA and Rebecca Mott (Adam) of Piney Flats, TN; and his sister Diane Harmon (Dick) of Bath, NY.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation & Funeral Services (3801 W 26th St, Erie, PA 16506). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the Erie County Memorial Gardens (7880 Edinboro Rd, Erie, PA 16509).
