He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard George and Dorothy Zupancic George. He is survived by: his wife Regina Luther George; his children, Ben George (Raina) and Emily George; his grandchildren, Cy, Sloane and Joslyn; and his brothers, Richard George (Ellen) and Scott George. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Erie Philharmonic 17 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16501.

“Dale was my oldest friend. We never lost touch since we met in before fifth grade. He told me about the Beatles the morning after he'd seen them on Ed Sullivan. We were riding the school bus to Kearsarge Elementary. This is one of the hardest losses of my life. He'd been in my life for nearly all of it. We never lost the ability to talk and enjoy each other's company. I will miss him deeply. My condolences to his family and all who loved him. I'm staggered by the loss and the world is changed.”
