He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Smerick and John A. Smerick; his sister Rosie Smerick; and his brother-in-law Stephen Gerenser. He is survived by: his wife Stacie Homan Smerick; his daughter Laura Christina (Adam Christina); his siblings, Rick Smerick (Louise Smerick), Robert Smerick (Ruth Smerick) and Barb Gerenser; and his nieces, Amy Smerick (Amy Cosart), Katie Smerick Hammer (Mike Hammer) and Rachel Smerick Buzzeo (Brandon Buzzeo).
