He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Herbert Metz; his stepfather Ronald R. Phillis; and his grandmother Gumma Diehl. He is survived by: his mother Mary K. Phillis Metz; his siblings, Mychelle Serafine and Matthew Phillis; his nieces and nephews, Hunter Phillis, Andrew Serafine (Alysha Cormier), Codi Serafine, Samantha Serafine (Kyelle Jones) and Mckynzie Miles; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Aniyah, Nova, Kaiden and Jones; and his godchildren, Aniyah and Kaiden.
