We are sad to announce that on April 13, 2024, at the age of 81, Uta Maria Smith of Erie, Pennsylvania passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Uta Maria Smith to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Elisabeth Piroth (Robert Piszczek) and Leonard Piroth; her husband John; her in-laws, Marie and John P. Smith; her brother-in-law Thomas G. Smith; and her friends, Heidi Mackes, Kenneth Smith, Karl Kraus, Erika Scheld, Harold and Helen Synder.

She is survived by : her children, Julia Smith (Marc), Michelle Sito (Christopher) and Michael Smith (Lisa); her grandchildren, Emily, Sophie, Eric and Christopher (Carly); her sister-in-law Barbara Smith; her cousin Ursula Wintermeyer (Reinhold); her godchildren, Eric Dudenhoffer and Christine Mackes; and also, Sabine, Lena and Sophie.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory (1595 W 38th St, Erie, PA 16508). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (1626 W 26th St, Erie, PA 16508).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Blessed Sacrament Church, Sisters of St. Joseph of Erie, and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
