He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Upton Slingluff and Ruth Lillian Beard; his wife Jean Agnes Vodenichar Slingluff; his son James Anthony Slingluff; and his brothers, Richard, Robert, John and Charles Slingluff.

He is survived by: his daughters, Joyce Jean Slingluff Wilbur (Edward John) of Pittsburgh, PA and Dorothy Rena Slingluff (Marion Lang) of Troy, VA; his granddaughter Emily Bouman (Thomas); his great grandchildren, Barbara and Leah Bouman; his grandson Scott Wilbur (Peace Agidi) of Alexandria, VA; and his great grandchild Senyo Agidiwilbur.
