It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Janice G. (Focht) Smithson of Exeter Township, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 17, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel H. Focht and Grace M. Focht (Demming); and her son Donald S. Miller. She is survived by: her husband Walter R. Smithson III of Exeter; her children, Gregory A. Miller (Kelley), Kenneth R. Smithson (Barbara), David S. Smithson and Tammy L. (John Germain); and her sister MaryJane Van Ord of Newport, NH.. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Schwarzwald Lutheran Church (250 Church Lane Rd, Reading, PA 19606). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the Forest Hills Memorial Park (390 W Neversink Rd, Reading, PA 19606).
